Miesha Theresa Tate, an American mixed-martial arts expert. A former mixed-martial artist. competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and is an ex- UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. In her earliest school years, the Tacoma native was extremely athletic. Following a suggestion from an acquaintance, when she was enrolled at Central Washington University she began to participate in the mixed martial art group. When she was 20 She took part in her very first amateur match against Elizabeth Posener, who specialized in Muay Thai. Her debut as a professional fighter at the HOOKnSHOOT Women's One-Night Grand Prix in 2007. She took home her first FCF Women's Bantamweight Championship after two years. Tate won praise for her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style, and she also wrestled. Soon after, her popularity grew when she became the first female to win the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship.
