Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has studied the Italian food and culture and has participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. I couldn't learn or do enough. When I graduated at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. She gained a deeper appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy, which has influenced her cooking style. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children living with challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she promotes juvenile diabetes awareness. She frequently travels around the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has always said I feel very fortunate to share my true passion to others.
